6 months and 6 days

Six months and 6 days ago Mike and I packed up all our belongings in a 26 ft truck (yes, a very large truck for just two) and moved from the busy city of Atlanta to below the gnat line, to the small town of Adel.

Our little house in the forest.

I was full of excitement and curiosity as I bid farewell to the area of Ga where I'd lived for five years. We were really going out our own, our little and new family--leaving behind great dinners at Maureen's and Max's, family gatherings at the home where Mike grew up, and our first home together--our little apartment off Peachtree St. We wouldn't be able to pop over to Maureen's or the Schay's for dinner or Sunday brunch, and at 10 hours away, there wouldn't be anymore weekend trips to Ky.

3rd day here I meet some of Mike's office "friends"--I had to resist squirming when I took these shots!

Life as we knew it was changing and changing dramatically but we both knew we stood on the cusp of our first family adventure--one of many, I'm sure. Mike said it'd be good to forge ahead just we three. "Let's give this a shot, let's begin our own adventure together." he told me when he got the job offer. 6 months and 6 days later I'm so glad I did. My husband is a very wise man!

View on the park as I drove home from my first trip to the Valdosta Publix--only 40 mins away
(in Atlanta we could walk to Publix)!

So here we'll update you all on our first adventure. We'll talk parks and gators, country living and of course share lots about the little apple of our eyes--Alan Thomas.

Five hours old.
Don't grow too fast little man!
So grab a glass of bourbon or some coffee and check in ever so often!

Love,
Margot, Mike, & Alan
