Atlanta detour
While on our way home from Ky Alan and I made the huge mistake of attempting to get through Atlanta during rush hour (which can run from 4-8, oh Atl how little I miss thee)! Our eta to make it to the Schay's was 6, however we soon found ourselves parked on 285 for over an hour--a mere 6 miles from our exit.
Providentially I called Maureen just to say "hi" and she said she and Max had been in the terrible traffic too but they pulled off to pass the time at a Cuban restaurant. Fortunately we were approaching that exit ourselves, so rather than inch along with a screaming baby I decided to wait it out too and offer the poor babe a nurse.
Alan was stoked to see Max and Auntie Maureen again! We're so glad we had that unexpected visit. After about an hour the traffic lifted and we finally arrived at the Schay's just after 8.
I miss the family and friends in Atlanta, but never Atlanta! I'll take the country roads anytime over the congested city traffic.

Family hike
Now that the gnats are finally gone and the weather has tempered we have been enjoying walking the trails on the park. There is a beautiful boardwalk that winds through the swampy woods and runs along the lake.
We just hop in the car and drive two minutes to the other side of the park where the trails are, I situate A.T. in the Moby and we're off for a nice stroll.
When we were dating and engaged we often enjoyed walking trails at various Atlanta parks but I think this is the prettiest trail and boardwalk I've seen yet.

Little nursling
Alan playing with his ear while he nurses. Oh how I wish I could bottle up his sweetness and keep it forever!
4 mo checkup at 5 mos
Alan went in for his 4 mo checkup today where the NP said: "He is perfect". I am not making that up, I knew this kid was special.
Here are his ratings:
99th percentile for cute, sweet, and happy (he has three new cousins this year that share this rating, hence not the hundredth percentile).
100th percentile for best looking brown eyes
74th percentile for weight (that's true)
100th percentile for being the biggest stink bug ;)
We love you little guy, you make everyday a joy!

Antiquing
I love to shop antiques, it has to be one of my very favorite things to do. I judge a downtown by the quality of its antique stores. A few weeks ago Mike and I had so much fun at an antique store in Hahira where we not only found things we love but also spent a good hour talking with owner-couple who were quite nice. I don't think I've ever met such friendly people as I do in South Ga.
Yesterday in Moultrie I found one of the very best antique stores ever--the quality and collection were unmatched and though not great deals, the prices were worth it.
At another antique store in Moultrie I bought a pair of S&P shakers that will match our day ware well.
Here are some pics of recent finds from various places:
Revolving book table, S&P shakers, 1920's glass decanter.
