Little Fireman

I was craving a sub after Mass today so we stopped at Firehouse Subs on our way home. They had a stack of fire hats for kids so I grabbed on for Alan. He hates hats and refuses to wear them so I was pleasantly surprised when he took to his fire hat. I took tons if pictures of him playing with it but I could not get him to stand still for a single one.

On our way!

We're vacationing for the next week at an all-inclusive resort in the Kentucky countryside, it even comes with free babysitters! We'll have an open bar, great meals, swimming pool and jacuzzi. I can't wait to visit my parents' home! :)

We were originally planning to leave tomorrow morning but Mike had a half day today and so we decided to just take off and take advantage of Alan being asleep as we drove into the night. Unfortunately though we've already sat through an hour of traffic and seem to be just getting through a very bad rain storm. Our eta now: 2am! Yikes!! But we did make it to Chick Fil-A for dinner.

Here are some pics of our day so far. The pics are out of order, the suitcase ones were taken at home when AT was helping me pack.

Birthday Boy!

Alan celebrated his first birthday one month ago. I just can't believe he's one already!

We spent the day in beautiful Madison with Grammie, Aunt Devanie, cousins Jake and Lydi and their grandaddy. It was a beautiful (and hot) summer's day.

Chick Fil-A sponsored a kids concert and ice cream social which were both fun to attend. Alan also got to ride forward facing for the first time.

Here are some pictures of the concert, ice cream social, and AT enjoying his new pool once we got home.

Just like daddy

Alan is Mike's #1 fan and he just totally lights up when Mike walks in the room.

Little walker!

Alan has started taking his first steps and he's getting quite good at standing up on his own without pulling up on something. I'll post a video soon.

Grampy's #1 fan

From our visit Mother's Day weekend. Whenever I couldn't hold Alan standing up (but I told him I could hold him on my lap-he's getting so heavy), he would crawl over to Grampy and tattle on me and of course Grampy would hold him standing! It's really sweet though how he does love to be with Grampy.
